Spirited

I’m in this newly published anthology called Spirited: Affirming The Soul and Black Gay/Lesbian Identity.
While the book itself is just published, my piece was actually written in 2001. At one point in the essay, I describe God as octopus-like with a tentacle connected to each of us.
Today, when I think of octopus-gods, my mind immediately pictures H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulu:

That Is Not Dead Which Can Eternal Lie.

And With Strange Aeons Even Death May Die
