Still Black: A Portrait Of Black Transmen

In addition to the workshops, panels, and performances, the Fire & Ink conference also had a film festival. I didn’t get to see the documentary Still Black: A Portrait of Black Transmen on the big screen; thankfully, I was able to buy it on dvd from one of the vendors. A variety of black transmen talk about their lives; it’s usually a population not heard from in the lgbt media. It’s a film that challenges assumptions in a number of arenas. Glad to have this in my personal library.

Hear director Kortney Ryan Ziegler and producer Awilda Rodriguez Lora discuss Still black on Sippin On Ink.
